Fact of the Day : Which tree is depicted on the national flag of Lebanon? (from World Flags)
Lebanon Lebanon adopted its present flag in 1943. The red bands represent the blood shed in the liberation struggle. The cedar tree on the white stripe has been a Lebanese symbol since Biblical times. Because of deforestation, only a few of Lebanon's giant cedars survive.
