READING PUBLIC MUSEUM
TO OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK IN 2013
November 15, 2012 – Reading, Pa. – Beginning January 2, 2013, the Reading Public Museum will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. In response to the increase in attendance during 2012, these new, expanded hours will give both local and out of town visitors increased access to the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.
In 2013, The Museum will celebrate its 100th anniversary of being open to the public, and many exciting exhibitions and special events are planned for the year, leading Museum management to determine that the additional hours are warranted.
“The public’s response to our new direction was so overwhelmingly positive in 2012 that opening on Mondays is a logical step, especially for our Centennial,” said John Graydon Smith, Director and CEO of The Museum.
In 2013, Museum Admissions pricing will be as follows: Adults (18-64) - $10; Senior (65+) - $6; Children - $6; College Students and Military w/ID - $6; Members and Children 3 and under – Free.
Neag Planetarium Admissions (per show) will be as follows: Adults (18-64) - $8; Senior (65+) - $6; Children - $6; College Students and Military w/ID - $6; Members and Children 3 and under – Free.
