July 4 events in Reading, PA.

July 4: “Red, White & Blues” celebration, 7 p.m., Reading Public Museum Stone Terrace Tent. With the James Supra Blues Band. Food and drink from ViVA Bistro & Lounge available for purchase. Stay to enjoy fireworks at West Reading Playground.

July 4: Wyomissing Independence Day celebration. 8:30 a.m., best-decorated house/block judging; 9:30 a.m., Fire Cracker Fun Run along parade route, with rain date Saturday; 10 a.m., parade; 11 a.m., activities at the Stone House. Also, novelty games, pie-eating contest and more.

July 4: Independence Day program, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township. Learn about Colonial troops. Children's activities include militia muster, toys and games, and crafts. Adults, $6; children 4 to 12, $4. Pulled pork sandwiches for sale.

July 4: Independence Day program, 2 p.m., Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, Union Township. Features inspirational reading of the Declaration of Independence and other writings accompanied by patriotic music.

July 4: The Reading Symphony Orchestra's Star Spangled Spectacular at FirstEnergy Stadium. Concert at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks. Gates open at 6 p.m. Rain date: Saturday.

July 5: Greater Mifflin Community Days presents fireworks at 10 p.m. at Gov. Mifflin High School.

July 6: Declaration of Independence Adoption Weekend, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., and 1201 Ben Franklin Highway East, Amity Township. Cats and kittens, free throughout the summer; dogs, $17.76 through July 11. Also enjoy games, prizes and ice cream. www.berkshumane.org.
