July 4: Wyomissing Independence Day celebration. 8:30 a.m., best-decorated house/block judging; 9:30 a.m., Fire Cracker Fun Run along parade route, with rain date Saturday; 10 a.m., parade; 11 a.m., activities at the Stone House. Also, novelty games, pie-eating contest and more.

July 4: The Reading Symphony Orchestra's Star Spangled Spectacular at FirstEnergy Stadium. Concert at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks. Gates open at 6 p.m. Rain date: Saturday.
July 5: Greater Mifflin Community Days presents fireworks at 10 p.m. at Gov. Mifflin High School.
July 6: Declaration of Independence Adoption Weekend, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., and 1201 Ben Franklin Highway East, Amity Township.
