If you love books and would like to meet the authors of some of your favorites, think about attending the Library of Congress 2017 National Book Festival at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. It takes place on Saturday, September 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m (doors open at 8:30 a.m.).
Presenting authors include David McCullough, Condoleezza Rice, Kate DiCamillo, Scott Turow, Ernest Gaines, Margot Lee Shetterly (author of the book "Hidden Figures" that inspired the movie of the same name) and more than 100 additional authors. Authors will also be signing copies of their books.
There's something for everyone from young children to adults and it's FREE! Of course, you have to get there, but if you love books it will be worth the time and money. Make it a Labor Day Weekend get-away.
